Birth control users with minor periods what do you use?

as in feminine products? I have been on the mirena for maybe 1.5 years and when I do get a period it not enough to really use a tampon but enough that i need a light pad to protect my underwear. When I use tampons they are uncomfortable because of the very little amount of blood and I can feel them inside of me. Maybe I should buy a smaller tampon like the lite one (i use regular) but still its really not much blood and maybe there is another option. I have used those cups (softcup) and they were ok but I had a regular heavy period when using them. What do you use and what kind of flow do you have
